How to Turn SOS Off on iPhone

SOS is a feature on iPhone that allows you to quickly call emergency services and send a message to your emergency contacts with your location. However, you may want to turn it off if you find it annoying or unnecessary. Here are the steps to do so:

Open Settings

The first step is to open the Settings app on your iPhone. You can do this by tapping on the gear icon on your home screen or by swiping down from the top-right corner of your screen and tapping on the Settings icon.

Tap on Emergency SOS

The next step is to tap on Emergency SOS in the Settings menu. This will open a screen with various options related to the SOS feature.

Disable Auto Call and Call with Side Button

The final step is to disable the two options that trigger the SOS feature automatically: Auto Call and Call with Side Button. Auto Call will dial emergency services when you press and hold the side button and either of the volume buttons for a few seconds. Call with Side Button will do the same when you rapidly press the side button five times. To disable these options, simply toggle the switches next to them to the off position.

Conclusion

SOS is a useful feature on iPhone that can help you in an emergency situation, but it can also be accidentally activated or unwanted. To turn it off, you just need to follow three simple steps: open Settings, tap on Emergency SOS, and disable Auto Call and Call with Side Button. You can always turn it back on if you change your mind later.
